Making our toys safe for your children

CE Marking

We are very proud to say that we are one of the few companies that tests rattan children products to meet European health, safety, and environmental protection standards.

You might have noticed that toys and other products aimed for domestic use have a CE mark on them to verify their safety. CE stands for "conformité européenne" (French for "European Conformity”) and it’s a series of harmonised requirements and tests that the manufacturer or importer need to comply with for the products to be sold freely in the European Economic Area. In the case of children’s toys, it also comes with a statement of age suitability that clarifies if a product is safe for use with newborns for example, and a series of disclaimers of potential dangers.

Our products have been tested for children older than 3 years of age, and they have not only passed the tests with flying colours but we have over tested them for greater peace of mind.

These tests include chemical emissions of the varnish, resistant to being drop repeatedly, pulled, hit with a heavy object and flame resistance to name a few.

We only use a water based non toxic varnish so there’s not harmful chemicals on our toys. Rattan is actually shaped using a blow torch and it doesn’t burn easily. It’s flexible so it doesn’t crack with drops but it is very light and extremely resistant.

The quality and finishing standards of our products ensure that not only the tests are passed but that the toys will not break easily and will last years to come.
